Global Missions
Global Missions: Our Worldwide Impact
We transform lives globally through strategic evangelism, discipleship, and targeted humanitarian aid. By forming dedicated mission teams and sending them to serve in the field, Northwoods volunteers build meaningful relationships with church planters and partner organizations worldwide. These collaborative partnerships amplify our impact as we work together to create lasting change in the world’s most vulnerable communities, extending God’s love across borders while empowering local Pastors to build sustainable futures where hope flourishes.
Every year, we take many trips to visit and serve our mission partners. Click the button to view our upcoming trips and learn how you can make a difference by going on a mission trip!
Brazil
Manaus
Departing from Manaus, our teams travel on a boat enabling Northwoods to help reach tribes and villages along the vast Amazon River.
Rio de Janeiro
Our missions teams to share powerful testimonies within local congregations, actively serve alongside the Rio Dream Center, and cultivate meaningful relationships with visionary church-planting pastors throughout the region.
Parana
In rural Paraná our teams have an opportunity to witness the transformative growth of an Acts-like early church movement firsthand. By visiting and encouraging dedicated church planters in rural settings, we participate in and support the authentic community-building that echoes the vibrant spiritual foundations described in book of Acts.
Dominican Republic
San Juan de la Maguana
Over the many years that our teams have traveled to the DR, we’ve had the opportunity to address medical, construction, care, and evangelism needs. We’ve been able to help build a school, orphanage, medical clinic, community center, and multiple churches.
India
India South
In southern India, we assist with large children’s camps and also train young leaders to host the camps. We’ve also assisted with pastor training conferences.
Israel
Bethlehem
Pastor Nihad and his wife, Salwa, lead one of the few gospel-preaching churches in the region. Located in the town of Bethlehem, they seek to introduce people to the Messiah born in their town.
Kfar Saba
The Hamayaan Congregation, led by Pastor Tony and his wife, Orna, focuses on sharing the Good News of the Messiah with Jews who don’t know Jesus. They serve the poor, help unwed mothers, and are leaders in the fight against abortion.
Jericho
With Tass Saada, a former PLO sniper, we serve with this ministry in Jericho that was born out of his radical encounter with Jesus. Their ministry of reconciliation between Jews and Arabs is at the heart of all they do as they make in difference in the lives of children and families in the Middle East.
Zambia
Zambia
We serve as church planter advocates, connecting with the pastors to encourage and pray for them during their first few years of the planting process.
Vietnam
Vietnam
We help to train local Vietnamese pastors to plant churches around Vietnam. Northwoods’ teams lead “Setting Captives Free” events to prepare the new pastors by helping them get free from any bondages in their lives that might hinder them as they seek to plant a church.
Global Missionaries
Northwoods supports these missionaries working around the globe.

Navigators
This missionary has served with his family among an unreached people group in Southeast Asia. He now ministers in the U.S. in communications, still with The Navigators and involved with making “disciples of all nations.” He continues to travel among sensitive people groups so we can’t list his name online.
Mark and Karen
Navigators
We love coaching leaders of leaders — whether in churches or community centers, at conferences or in our home, one-to-one or in cohorts, in person or on Zoom! It brings us so much joy to come alongside pastors and church leaders and leaders of nonprofits and to help them lead with courage, clarity and compassion. Mark & Karen are humbled and honored to be Northwoods missionaries since 1993 (when they first moved overseas). They are grateful to now be ministering in the United States and around the world (including some new open doors in closed countries). Please pray for wisdom & insight as they coach…and for good & lasting spiritual fruit from all their endeavors. Isaiah 58:10-12

Ashley

My main ministry currently has been helping run our 3 month Bible School in the summers, teaching in our initial discipleship school, and preparing to be part of a church planting team.
Alissa Bauer
WorldVenture, Japan
I am currently serving on a church planting team with the second largest unreached people group in the world, where I participate in various activities including evangelism and discipleship. God has given me a heart to empower the local Japanese Christian. To encourage and partner with them in walking with Jesus and sharing their faith. I love doing life together with the younger generation of new believers, seeing God do miracles in their hearts, and watching them go out and share that with others!
Makenzie King
